A curious Mackenzie wonders what's really going on between Nikau and Bella. Knowing the truth about the bikie threat, Felicity is evasive on the subject, putting it down to the struggle of long-distance relationships.

After calling Bella to check in, Dean breaks the sad news to Mackenzie – Bella has decided to stay in New York.

Meanwhile, relieved to get it off his chest, Tane reveals to Rose the bikie plot to launder money. Hungry for information on Tex's bikie gang, Rose asks Tane for his phone. She suggests maybe they can locate the headquarters where Tane was kidnapped. This is new terrain for Tane, being on the police's side.

Buckling under the pressure, Tane snaps at Nikau and Felicity. When Tane answers a phone call from Rose, Nikau and Felicity worry that the police are investigating the bikies, suspecting Tane's cooperation. Unbeknownst to them, Tane is secretly cooperating with the police.

Tex brings an assertive 'new employee' to handle the gym's books for the bikies: Genevieve. Unable to work with Tane breathing over her shoulder, Genevieve demands Tane leave her to it. Quickly, Tane is losing control of his own gym.

Felicity is rudely greeted by a hostile Genevieve, but before Felicity can retaliate, Tane pulls her away. They need to keep their cool with the bikies.

Still burdened with the guilt of breaking up with Bella for her protection, Nikau is fuming. A provocative Tex taunts Nikau around the surf club, sending Nikau into attack mode. A protective Tane steps between them, instructing Nikau to cool down. Tex warns Tane to keep a lid on his fiery family – the bikies need the business to be running smoothly.

A determined Rose calls Tane into the police station to discuss a strategy. She has dug up some intel on Tex's known associates and they're dangerous. Rose can't guarantee Tane's safety if they pursue the gang, so how far is he willing to go to get rid of the bikies? Tane gives his assurance – he'll do whatever it takes.

Keeping up appearances, Rose greets Tex with affection, while she secretly keeps researching his gang affiliations. Rose and Tex agree to keep their relationship going, despite the obvious cop/bikie conflict, but Rose has an ulterior motive at work – she wants to get to the bottom of Tex's bikie operations.

A distressed Felicity awakes to discover Tane gone and quickly alerts Nikau. Clearly on a mission, Tane rocks up to the bikie headquarters, unannounced. Tane is grabbed by bikie security and brought face to face with Tex and the bikie boss, Marty. It's a tense stand-off. What is Tane doing there?
