Felicity returns from the city, buzzing. The meeting with the solicitor made it official and she's the new co-owner of Salt. Tane pulls her into a congratulatory kiss, but it seems the celebration is being taken to the bedroom.

Frustrated with juggling two jobs, Chloe wonders where Tane is. She has a Diner shift soon and Tane is late for work. Nikau has the misfortune of informing Chloe that Tane is 'busy' at home with Felicity and may be too distracted. Grossed out and impatient, Chloe is forced to keep the gym running solo. When Chloe arrives an hour late for her Diner shift, a patient Marilyn suggests it may be time to decide between her two jobs.

Felicity and Tane's steamy reunion is interrupted by a cacophony outside. They are surprised to discover a band performing an impromptu concert on the front lawn. Felicity sings along, greeting the band with familiarity. Tane is shocked – who are these people? Felicity retorts with glee – these are her friends.

What to Read Next

Felicity introduces the band to Tane – they are her old friends from the city, but they've been on the road since they had a big break. It's wild, loud and the old friends are clearly in the party spirit. Tane leaves them to it, a little perturbed by the rowdy bunch taking over his house, but happy for Felicity to be reunited.

With Tane gone, Felicity declares they're having a pool party. It's like the good old days. But cracks in the band's friendly front begin to show – Bob, the band singer oozes arrogance. Eden, the bass player tells Felicity that it's been a tough year on the road and they need to take a breather.

Tane is appalled to see the band has colonised the house. Felicity is ecstatic the band are going to stay with them for the night. Tane is thoroughly unimpressed but makes a concession: one night only.

Meanwhile, confused Nikau is called into work on his day off by John. Adding to the confusion, Nikau finds the beach fully patrolled. It isn't clear why John called him in, but John is evasive. Nikau's boredom is pleasantly interrupted by Naomi, who shows up to have that coffee that Nikau promised her at the hospital. The two chat like old friends – they have an easy banter.

Nikau and Naomi return to find the surf club crowded with people as John makes a public announcement – Nikau has been nominated for a bravery award. A proud Naomi admits that she nominated Nikau. Full of nerves, Nikau hopes he needn't make a speech at the awards night.

Trying to perk him up, John explains there will be a huge formal dinner. Tane says Ari would be proud. Swallowing his fear, Nikau agrees to attend. Naomi offers to attend the ceremony with Nikau, but he recoils. Would that be considered a date?

Elsewhere, Ziggy breaks the bad news to Dean – they may need to postpone their road trip as Justin has asked her to take over Theo's apprenticeship. A reassuring Dean insists that they can road trip some other time and that Ziggy will be a fantastic apprentice supervisor. An adoring Ziggy is grateful for Dean's unwavering support.

Upon reflection, Ziggy realises how much Justin helped her during her apprenticeship, so of course she'll repay the favour. Justin is overwhelmingly relieved. Now Theo can continue his apprenticeship at the garage. Ziggy is quick to remind him they aren't in the clear yet. Ziggy still needs to be approved as a supervisor first.
