Mackenzie and Felicity hit the ground running on co-ownership. Mackenzie is grateful to be turning a new page on the business. The new partners clash when Mackenzie wants to play it safe, but Felicity wants to relaunch the business with a bang.

Dean tells Mac she's a control freak – Felicity just saved her skin and Mac is already picking fights. Mac takes Dean's words on board. Felicity is deflated, her hopes for business stardom dashed. She fears Mackenzie will always treat her as an employee.

Mackenzie admits that she struggles to let go of the reins on her business. Swallowing her fear, Mackenzie tells Felicity that she's prepared to listen. After all, they're business partners. The women shake on it, gliding over their first bump in the road.

Meanwhile, band members Eden and Remi are the best of friends but make a sport of teasing each other. Kirby the soulful songwriter is in a rocky romance with the arrogant lead singer, Bob. Quickly the band have taken over the house, their instruments and mess everywhere.

When Felicity brings Mackenzie over to meet the band they make a less than favourable impression. Felicity pitches her big idea – a band night to relaunch Salt. Mackenzie looks unimpressed… this partnership is going to be harder than she thought.

Tane is annoyed at being left alone with the band. They've turned his living room into a jam space. Felicity counters that they're fun and Tane should get to know them. But a grouchy Tane interrupts their living room jam, pulling the plug on their amps.

Taking heed, the band promise to follow house rules and keep the music down. Eager to keep the peace, Eden breaks the ice with Tane, bonding over wild memories of Felicity.

Elsewhere, hurt at being rejected, Naomi back pedals on her offer to attend the bravery award ceremony with Nikau. She explains that with Bella in New York, Naomi thought he could use the moral support. Nikau awkwardly deflects, fearing their friendship could be crossing a line.

Nikau turns to John for help on the Naomi dilemma – did Naomi just ask him out on a date or not? John assures Nikau that if Bella is making friends in New York, he can make new friends too.

Nikau is awoken in the middle of the night to Eden climbing into his bed. Horrified at the implication, Nikau tells her to get out. Not there on a seductive mission, Eden grumbles that sleeping on the living room floor sucks and crawls in.

Uncomfortable being in bed with another woman, Nikau gets up to call Bella, missing her like crazy. After reconnecting with Bella on the phone, Nikau feels at ease to befriend Naomi and invite her to the bravery award ceremony with him.
