Feeling judged about her 'coping mechanism', Rose tells Xander to back off. Xander offers Rose a gentle apology for ambushing her with family lunch. Touched by his compassion, Rose softens and admits the truth of all her anger: she's in love with her sister's boyfriend.

Xander wonders how Tex fits into all this. An emotionally exhausted Rose sighs that Tex was meant to be a distraction from her true feelings. Understanding Rose's plight, Xander promises to keep his nose out of her business from now on.

Ziggy offers Xander a friendly ear, knowing how difficult sisters can be. All the talk of family inspires some nostalgia for Ziggy, who misses her sister Coco. Eager to please, Dean suggests they go on a road trip to visit her. Ziggy is giddy – that's the best idea ever. Now Ziggy just needs to ask Justin for the time off work.

Later, a self-reflective Rose apologises to Tex for dragging him along to the family lunch yesterday. Unperturbed, Tex admits he really likes Rose. As the romance heats up, Rose asks Tex if they should get out of town for a few days. Tex doesn't even hesitate.

Meanwhile, Theo is in the celebratory spirit, post-exam pass. Chloe joins the celebrations as Leah pops the champagne. But Justin's barely-concealed stormy mood is noticed by Leah – what was that phone call about? Not wanting to disrupt the party, Justin covers. But he can't hide this forever.

In a private moment, Justin divulges to Leah that his accreditation has been suspended, meaning he can no longer supervise Theo's apprenticeship. Leah is horrified that Theo's apprenticeship would be jeopardised by Justin's mistake. Hesitant to dampen the mood, the couple agree to break the news to Theo once he's finished celebrating.

Theo's celebratory spirit is cut short by the bad news: Justin can no longer supervise his apprenticeship. Theo is gutted and indignant. Trying to find a solution, Justin asks Ziggy to take over Theo's apprenticeship. Ziggy is thrown off kilter – is this the end of her and Dean's road trip plans?

Elsewhere, Roo and Marilyn continue to brainstorm ideas to keep Tex justifiably employed at the caravan park and bait shop. Aware that Alf will need convincing, they go overboard, planning a year's worth of caravan park renovations. It's a fun project for the best friends to buzz over.
