Home and Away: Ryder struggles with Mac's demand

Following his new promotion and the responsibility of firing Chloe, which he couldn't follow through with, Ryder is trying to work out the best course of action so not to ruin his brand new relationship. Alf realises Ryder hasn't fired Chloe yet, and despite his advice, Ryder is still trying to work a way around the whole situation so that everyone involved is happy.

Chloe is thriving in booking events for Salt and decides to ask Mac to officially take on the role as 'event manager'. This sends Ryder into utter chaos. How will he sort this out, once and for all?

Mac calls to ask whether Ryder has sacked Chloe yet, which he says he has, but that lie is about to unravel when Mac mentions she's on her way in to fix the rosters.

Ryder thinks he has convinced Mac to stay home, but when she arrives in, Ryder is forced to admit he hasn't fired Chloe yet. Mac takes it upon herself to fire Chloe in front of him, leaving Chloe devastated and heartbroken.

Meanwhile, Dean and Roo work through with organising the surf competition, but Roo can see Dean is clearly distracted. He avoids discussing the truth to his absent mind. Amber arrives unexpectedly at Mac's place, keen for anyone to understand the mistake she has just made in professing her love to Dean.

Mac does her best to put her past liaisons with Amber aside to listen to what she has to say about her love-confession woes. Amber worries that Dean won't be able to say those three special words to her. Mac tells Amber that she needs to ask herself if she's willing to settle for second best.

Just as Mac tells Amber that she really isn't in the best place to give relationship advice, Dean arrives, surprised to see Amber there. She flees with Dean hot on her tail. He goes after her, but can't offer the words she so desperately wants to hear. Amber resolves to waiting out for what she really wants, because their life is pretty great as it is.

Elsewhere, Leah's intensity into uncovering all things Susie still won't relent, no matter how much Justin tries to encourage her to stop. Justin is worried Leah is becoming obsessed, but she won't hear it.

Leah relays all of the information she has gathered on Susie to Roo and Marilyn. Leah is sad to realise John is still selling his house, despite them not accepting his offer to repay them the money Susie defrauded them of.

Justin runs out of his pain medication and starts to panic when he doesn't have any repeats. The doctor can't see him for a week, which forces Justin into making a panicked decision to get medication from another doctor. Justin comes home to find Leah sitting at home in the dark, desperately seeking more information about Susie, and the path of destruction she has left in her wake.
