Tori and Justin discuss his condition. Justin is terrified about how to tell Ava about what's happening. He makes an attempt to tell her, but bails on the idea at the last minute. Tori continues to diagnose Justin's issues, which only causes him to push back on her.
When Justin finally gets the courage to tell her everything and continues with telling her that he doesn't want an operation, Ava can't take what she's hearing and runs off scared. Leah explains everything to Ava, who in turn tries to convince her dad to have the operation.
Meanwhile, Roo and Owen enjoy their time together, but when he asks her about her feelings towards him, it's difficult for her to answer. Owen tells her that he's glad his brother chose someone like her to watch over him during his final days. She never thought about it like that and thanks him for the perspective.

Ryder tries to get information out of Owen about his time with Roo and notices the twinkle in Owen's eye. Alf, Marilyn and Ryder all suspect there's more going on between Owen and Roo. When Owen asks Roo on a real date, she's initially thrown but says yes.
