Leah explains to Alf that they are hoping for positive news about Tori today – if her CT scan is clear, it could be the beginning of her recovery. Unfortunately, when Justin receives the call from Tori's doctor, the news is devastating – they have found a secondary bleed on Tori's brain. Leah is upset but stays strong for Justin. The community feel awful for the Morgans.
Justin informs Robbo of the terrible news as they share a moment over Grace. Justin switches off his phone and throws himself into work. Leah grows increasingly anxious the longer she doesn't hear from him. She eventually finds him at the garage.
Justin confesses that he couldn't face telling his family and breaks down – how is he meant to offer them hope when he is running out of it himself? Leah holds him tightly.

Meanwhile, Ben returns from talking to Dean with plenty on his mind. He surprises Maggie by insisting they get dressed up and head out. She goes along with the fun, but is curious about Ben's motives. He spoils her and they enjoy a lovely meal in Salt. Roo spots them, delighted they are back on track. Maggie is cautious, expecting this 'up' to be followed by a steep 'down'.
Ben shares his concerns over Dean. Ben sees himself in Dean and understands his feeling of inadequacy. He echoes Dean's insecurities by admitting he rarely feels good enough for Maggie – even now. She jokes, but he feels guilty about his behaviour while he was depressed.
Maggie understands that Ben was sick. Ben opens up, admitting that his depression hit their marriage hard, but Maggie has never doubted her love for him – she would never leave him because she would never be happy again. Their honesty draws them even closer, a marriage renewed.
Elsewhere, Jasmine remains wounded by Robbo's outburst. She calls him out for not trusting her with Grace. He effectively shuts her down by focusing so intently on Grace. Jasmine leaves, hurt. She expresses her frustrations to Irene, who is sympathetic but draws upon her own counselling experience – she suspects Robbo is still in some sort of survival mode. Jasmine's perspective is subtly altered.
Jasmine returns to confront Robbo, although the mood has shifted after the devastating Tori news. They realise their little family could be the future. She touches upon Irene's insights – Robbo admits it is hard to let his guard down, but acknowledges that he needs to work on accepting they are safe now. Robbo insists he does trust her with Grace. Jasmine is relieved and they are left in a much better place.
Also today, Alf and Roo are excited about Martha moving in. Roo invites her friends to the welcome party that John and Marilyn have insisted upon. Leah is unsure if Justin will be in the right headspace for it. Alf and Roo make sure everything is prepared – she wryly forces Alf to realise he'll need to find extra space for all of Martha's stuff.
He is ready for the party when Martha rings… the news does not sound good. Roo returns home to find a sombre Alf, who tells her to cancel the party – Martha's not coming. She made up some nonsense excuse and has obviously changed her mind about moving in. Roo deflates, though intends to find out what is going on.
