Colby and Mac are both looking forward to a romantic weekend together, while Bella is away in the city on a school excursion. On the morning she's meant to leave, however, Bella tells Colby that she's not feeling well. Unsure if Bella's faking it, due to feeling nervous about being away with people she doesn't know, Colby suggests they get some breakfast to see if that perks her up.
Food doesn't help and Bella insists she's too sick to attend the excursion. This means Colby's hopes for some loved-up time with Mac are sinking fast. Bella is appalled when he asks her if she's putting this on, insisting that she's unwell. Mac is bitterly disappointed but also suspicious when Colby tells her their weekend is off.
Mac asks Dean if it's too paranoid to think that Bella might be putting on an act, simply as a way of keeping her and Colby apart. Dean, very mindful of the fact that Bella was going to burn down Salt, tells Mac that he wouldn't put it past her.

Mac goes over to the pier apartment to suss it out for herself and she accuses Bella of faking it. Outraged, Bella takes off. As Colby chases after her, Bella collapses. Colby is horrified – obviously this means Bella is really sick. However, Mac is still unsure whether or not this is more of Bella's act.
Meanwhile, Ziggy and Dean are back in a good place as they both rejoice in the fact that Jade will no doubt be leaving town soon. Unbeknown to them, Ryder introduces Jade to Mac and manages to secure her a job at Salt.
Soon afterwards, Maggie becomes aware of Ziggy's jealousy towards Jade. She counsels her daughter to have faith in the fact that Dean would never abuse her trust the way Brody did. Dean is flabbergasted when he sees Jade working at Salt. He's also nervous, thinking that Ziggy's going to hit the roof when she finds out. Dean asks Mac to give Jade the sack, but an incredulous Mac reminds him that she's running a business, which has to come before Dean's love life or ego.
Ryder is trying his best to impress Jade, but he quickly realises that she only has eyes for Dean. Disappointed, Ryder asks Dean if he can stop being so attractive and wonderful, because he'd like a shot with Jade. Ziggy has overheard and she's stunned to hear that Jade is sticking around. Mindful of her earlier talk with Maggie, Ziggy is determined to remain calm and she simply tells Dean that she trusts him.
Dean is amazed by Ziggy's reaction. When Jade later tries to flirt with him, he puts her in her place, insisting that she's wasting her time by thinking something might happen between them. Dean returns home to Ziggy, who's thrilled to hear about the way Dean hosed down Jade's hopes. Their love for each other is reaffirmed.
Elsewhere, Martha and Alf arrive home from their road trip and are waiting for the right time to announce some happy news – Martha is going to be moving into the Summer Bay House for good!
Also today, Ben is feeling much more positive, and believes his anti-depressants are having a good effect. However, he's super keen for business to pick up again at the board shop – only time will tell if this proves to be the case.
