Joel has a debt to Mercedes – she wants him to provide an alibi for his dad Warren. There's a two hour window Warren can't account for. Joel is torn as he considers the possibility of going to prison.
Leela confront Mercedes, believing she is seeing Joel behind her back. Mercedes threatens Joel that she will tell Leela about his drug taking if he doesn't go to the police to get Warren out.

Meanwhile, at the law office, Leah carries on her mission to get Ste and James back together. After he shouts her out of the office, Maxine confronts him over why he changed his will the day before to leave everything to Ste and the children.
Elsewhere, John Paul comes to see Cleo. Abe continues to pull the wool over his eyes when he is concerned to work out they are trying for a baby. Exhausted Cleo complies with his demands. Cleo tries again to talk to John Paul but she ends up turning on him, becoming more isolated.
