Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas has revealed that Richard Blackwood's new character will play a major part in Warren Fox's upcoming storyline.
Digital Spy previously exclusively revealed that Blackwood was lined up to join the show. A day later, he was officially announced to be playing Felix Westwood, a past love interest of Martine Deveraux.
Lomas – who plays Warren Fox – recently teased that the Channel 4 soap will be further exploring his character's past, hinting at a "well-known face" joining the cast. On Hollyoaks, it was revealed that another child was regularly violent to him.
Speaking on This Morning today (February 3), Lomas confirmed Blackwood's role in the storyline.
"[Warren] just doesn't know how to behave, really," he said. "He justifies his actions in his own head and does what he needs to do to survive.
"He was brought up in a children's home, which we'll really delve into in the coming month. So he has to do what he has to do to survive.

"We've got Richard Blackwood, who has just come in. He's going to be a great addition to the show, and he was part of Warren's history growing up in the children's home. We're going to really delve into that and find out why Warren is the way he is. I think fans will love it, and it will be really interesting."
Lomas also said that the plan is for him to be "back for a year".
"I came back for the 25th anniversary, and knowing Hollyoaks, I'm sure they'll do something amazing," he said.
"They will do something spectacular, I’m sure of that. 25 years is such an achievement, and I’m very proud and honoured to be a part of that."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
