Hollyoaks has seen a far-right storyline brewing for some time now, focusing on violence from a fascist gang.

And someone who has been deeply involved with this particular plotline has been Ste Hay, played by Kieron Richardson, who was groomed to join the fascist group by Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) and Jonny Baxter (Ray Quinn).

Ste has had iconic bleach blonde hair for a while now, making him instantly recognisable as the young man increasingly driven to violence to prove his loyalty.

But now, Kieron has unveiled a completely different look, reverting back to his brunette hair for the first time in ages.

Posting on Instagram, Kieron shared a pictures of himself with his new do, which marks a drastic change from Ste's bright blonde locks.

He captioned an earlier post: "This time tomorrow I will be a brunette again... woo woo woop.

"Ps I only went blonde to copy Chris from love island nearly 2 years ago then stuck in continuity bleach top ups from @georgiamorls every Monday since
#cantwait #pleasedontcommentsayingthankgod I already know it wasn't everyones cup of tea but hashtag at least I'm not bringing the perm back."

Blonde, brunette... it all looks good to us, Kieron.

As for what Ste will be up to on screen over the coming few weeks, we know that the sinister radicalisation plot is set to reach a climax next month – and with Stuart planning a shocking new attack, the repercussions for Ste will be "devastating"...

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
