Holby City's Guy Henry has stepped down from his role as Henrik Hanssen to join the cast of Peter Gynt at the National Theatre.
Last night's episode of Holby City saw career-focused Hanssen opt to put his job aside in order to leave with his grandson Oskar, after Sara returned to collect him.
Having formed a close bond with Oskar over the last few months, Hanssen decided to put his family first for the time being and left the hospital behind.
But don't worry, because a source confirmed to Digital Spy that Guy will be back walking the hospital corridors sometime next year.
The series shoots four months in advance and, with the play concluding in October, this means he probably won't be back on screens until next year but should be back on set before Christmas.
