1. Will's Christmas revenge plan
Will has been plotting against Kim for weeks now and his scheming looks set to reach a peak over the festive season.
As Will continues to follow orders from Kim's financial advisor Peter – and a mysterious third party – he tells Kim that they should renew their wedding vows on Christmas Day.
Kim is overjoyed by this apparent romantic gesture, unaware that she's falling into a sinister trap.
It won't all be plain sailing for Will, though. When Kim insists on having Dawn, Billy and the kids at the ceremony – and even invites them back to live at Home Farm – Will worries that his closest family members could be caught in the crossfire.
Claire King, who plays Kim, recently teased her character's Christmas by telling TV Times magazine: "Kim is at Home Farm. And it's not going to be particularly peaceful…"
2. A happier Christmas for Belle
Tom King's trial takes place in the week before Christmas, so whatever happens, his estranged wife Belle is likely to still be dealing with the repercussions during the festive season itself.
Fortunately, show bosses have already confirmed that Belle will enjoy a happy Christmas this year after her year-long ordeal with her abusive husband.
Speaking earlier this year, Emmerdale's producer Laura Shaw commented: "We knew from the outset that Belle would need some sort of closure on Tom and we know our Emmerdale audience always look forward to our villains getting their comeuppance.
"We don't want to spoil the outcome of this story and reveal what will happen to Tom, but needless to say, Belle's going to be in a much better place by this Christmas.”
3. A surprise arrival
In September, Emmerdale's executive producer Iain MacLeod hinted that someone unexpected could make an appearance on Christmas Day.
Speaking to reporters at the National Television Awards, MacLeod commented: "This Christmas, there is a huge surprise arrival on Christmas Day."
Could this link in with Peter's mysterious phone calls to an unknown contact? Only time will tell.
4. Life-or-death danger
In the same interview, Iain MacLeod also warned that at least one character will face terrible danger at Christmas this year.
Last year it was Mackenzie Boyd in a terrifying predicament as he faced a violent ordeal with dangerous gangster Damon 'Harry' Harris, so we can probably safely assume that it'll be someone else's turn this year...
MacLeod said: "[There's] some life or death jeopardy on Christmas Day – but obviously there will be festive brilliance as we do every year – but I think it is one of the most exciting Christmases that I can remember on Emmerdale this year!"
5. Trouble for Marlon
Emmerdale favourite Marlon Dingle may be facing a miserable time over the festive season.
Claire King let the news slip in her recent TV Times interview, naming Marlon as one to watch out for in the episodes.
We've already heard whispers that April Windsor's rebellious behaviour could become a cause for concern in a new story. She starts to act out following her recent kidnap ordeal and discovering the truth about her mum Donna's death.
Claire commented: "The Tom and Belle story is big for us – will Belle finally get the justice she deserves?
"It's also a difficult time for Marlon, and viewers will find out more about Ruby's past."
