Lisa Riley's long-awaited return to Emmerdale is just around the corner, and fans have been hard at work speculating over what she will get up to upon her return.
A fair few people think that Mandy will come back and split up Chas and her ex-husband Paddy Kirk. While it might make for some juicy drama, it's a theory that Riley is quick to shoot down.
"With Paddy, I think (Mandy is) going to have a life-long friendship," she said. "Of course, every piece of speculation that I read as Lisa is that I'm going to split them up.
"Of course I'm not going to split them up! That would be the most ludicrous idea ever. Mandy loves Chas – they're Dingles.

"They're more like sisters – the type of sisters that peck each other's head, but there's so much love there between them. They're spiky!

"As we get towards Chas giving birth, you're going to realise that Mandy is elated that Paddy's happy. She'd never dent that.

Mandy will be getting up to some home-wrecking, however, but with another couple in her sights...
Expanding on Mandy and Paddy's friendship, she said: "I think it's nice for Paddy to have a female confidante. Mandy would never do Paddy over, ever.
"Paddy has got a great friend in Marlon, and that friendship has been around ever since I was here first time around. But I think it's nice that he's got someone else to offload on."
Riley also shared her joy of working with Lucy Pargeter, who wasn't in the show during Riley's first run, and teased that Aaron and Mandy will have a lot of fun scenes for fans to look forward to.
"I love what they're writing for Aaron and Mandy," she added, "and there's so much of that to come, the good and the bad!"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
