Danny Dyer has admitted that he is rooting for Coronation Street as it goes live next week, but joked that EastEnders had a more challenging job.
Coronation Street is broadcasting a live episode next week to help celebrate 60 years of ITV. EastEnders also went live earlier this year to mark their 30th anniversary milestone, with a 30-minute live episode and other live segments throughout the week.
Admitting that he "can't wait" to tune into Coronation Street's live instalment, Dyer poked fun at the ITV soap for only airing one episode.
The actor told OK!: "I know what it's like – it's tough! You've got to remember that we did a week… so one night is f**k all, really. But I'm rooting for them."
Dyer, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, also promised big stories for his on-screen family, adding that they are set to have a busy New Year.
Discussing future stories, he said: "Where do I start? We've got loads coming up. New Year's Day is proper! It's all about the Carters."
Coronation Street airs its hour-long live episode on Wednesday, September 23 at 7.30pm on ITV.
