EastEnders has hinted at tensions ahead for Denise Fox and newcomer Sheree.

Show bosses recently announced the casting of Suzette Llewellyn in the role of Sheree, who's a new love interest for Patrick Trueman.

Sheree makes her first appearance in EastEnders on Friday (August 2), when Patrick returns to Walford and introduces everyone to her.

As Sheree settles into life on the Square in the days that follow, a loved-up Patrick couldn't be happier to have her with him.

Unfortunately, Denise struggles to warm to Sheree, as she seems to be making herself a little too at home. Can the two ladies find a way to get along?

Afterwards, Sinead is determined to forget about Laurie and seeks a distraction by arranging to attend a music festival with Lisa Loveday and Cleo McQueen. Diane tells Sami Maalik that Sinead needs someone to look out for her, so he agrees to go with her too.

The next day, Laurie attends court and is sentenced to four years in prison for what he did to Diane.

While being escorted away in a police van, he crosses paths with Sinead's brother Finn and they strike up a conversation. Finn admits his own crimes and urges Laurie to do the same.

When Laurie mentions Sinead, Finn realises who he is and lunges at him – and the chaos that follows causes the van to crash. Will this be the end of Laurie, or does it give him the opportunity to escape?

Coming up on Coronation Street, Bernie Winter causes more chaos after her daughter Gemma gives her a warning.

As the show newcomer settles into life at Number 5, she winds up Chesney Brown by threatening to bring random men back to the house if the mood takes her. When Chesney protests, Bernie accuses him of being jealous.

Gemma can sense that Bernie is pushing her luck too far and orders her to start making an effort with Chesney – or else.

Bernie takes her daughter's words on board by bringing a wishing tree back to the house, presenting it to Chesney as an olive branch.

Gemma praises her mum for the thoughtful gesture, but all becomes clear when Brian Packham later spreads the word that someone has stolen a tree from Victoria Gardens.

Chesney realises with a heavy heart that this 'someone' must be Bernie and he goes to tackle his 'mother-in-law'. Will Bernie show any remorse for her actions?
