Coronation Street star Stirling Gallacher has hinted that Sally Metcalfe's situation may be hopeless as her storyline reaches a key moment.
Sally is on trial, facing fraud allegations, and viewers will see the verdict handed down in tonight's episode (November 26).
Sophie Webster has bent the rules in the hopes of giving her mother the best chance of being acquitted of the charges, including conspiring to delay the trial. Abi punched Sally in the face, so that Sally had to go to hospital.
Paula, played by Stirling Gallacher, has the opposite approach to Sophie, wanting to do everything by the book. But it may be too little too late.
"She'd have to be a flippin' magician with what's going on at the moment!" she told Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes in an interview on This Morning.
"It's hard, isn't it? Because there are so many twists and turns happening, and in legal business, the thought of calling someone in prison – not aware, of course – that the phone calls are going to be monitored..."

"I think it does boil down to Sophie's naivety," Brooke added. "I don't think she's thought it was going to have this much of an impact."
Stirling added that the relationship between Sophie and Paula "was a very poor call" by them, but explained Paula's mindset.
"I think Paula is a very straightforward kind of a woman, and she's confident that she can talk herself out of an emotionally eruptive situation. It's entirely dreadful timing."
