Former Coronation Street and Emmerdale star, Hayley Tamaddon, recently revealed that she would return to either soap "in a heartbeat".

Tamaddon played Delilah Dingle in Emmerdale and Andrea Beckett in Corrie. She's also taken on ice staking, with the actress appearing on Dancing on Ice in 2010 and winning the TV show.

During an interview with the Mirror, Tamaddon spoke of how she would love to return to play her soap characters, however, she does seem to favour one over the other.

"Emmerdale taught me everything about how to work quickly in TV, but I think my heart lies with Corrie," she said.

"I found my feet there and I'm still best friends with so many of them."

We see each other every week to the point where the directors invite me to things and say, 'It's like you never left, we see you all the time'."

"My best friend is Dan Brocklebank [Corrie vicar Billy] – we've been friends for years.

"And Sue Cleaver [Eileen Grimshaw] and Beverley Callard [Liz McDonald] took me under their wing when I first joined Coronation Street. Sue housed me for the first month I was there."

"It's a family at Corrie and I feel lucky I can still go to the pub across the road and they're all there, they all open their arms to me. It feels like I never left."

Tamaddon also revealed that wishing for things is the secret behind her success. She swears by Rhonda Byrne's self-help book, The Secret, which states that if you wish for things enough, they eventually have a knack of coming true.

Tamaddon is living proof that wishing for things could very well work. She wanted to appear on Dancing on Ice, and she did. She wanted to be a leading role in a movie, and she landed the lead in the British picture, Eaten by Lions.

The next thing she wants to do is appear on Strictly Come Dancing, so expect to see her twirling on the dance floor very soon.
