Soap fans, it's time to sit back, relax and place your bets on which under-pressure actor could be first to fluff a line. Yep, Coronation Street is going live again tonight with a dramatic hour-long special centring around the Platt family's war with bad boy Callum Logan.

There's been endless news, gossip and speculation about the broadcast in recent weeks, but if you've somehow missed it all or just need a handy recap, here's our definitive guide of 10 things to expect from Coronation Street Live.

1. Sarah and Callum's big fight

Tina O'Brien and Sean Ward share the first scene of Coronation Street Live as their characters Sarah and Callum continue to clash at the Platt house. No pressure, guys! The special episode picks up immediately where Monday's double bill left off, with Callum furious that Sarah has lured him to the Street under false pretences.

Sarah's cunning plan was to record Callum saying something incriminating, but this quickly backfires as he unleashes his anger in heated scenes. Just how far will Callum go when things turn physical?

2. Callum vs. David

It won't just be Sarah going head-to-head with Callum. As the tension mounts, Callum will leave the Platt family with nowhere else to run and the pressure will rest on David's shoulders to protect his loved ones.

With a live showdown in store, will Callum claim another victim or can David finally fight fire with fire? We've definitely missed David's evil side while he's been giving in to Callum's threats, so our biggest hope is that his old twisted self comes back for one night only to deal with his nemesis.

3. Lloyd and Andrea say goodbye

Playing alongside the Platt family's explosive evening will be an emotional leaving party for Lloyd Mullaney and Andrea Beckett, as their friends gather at The Rovers to give them a fitting send-off before they move to Jersey.

It may not sound like the most thrilling of storylines, but give it a chance. Corrie insiders have teased that something unexpected happens in the live episode, which then leads to Lloyd and Andrea changing their plans and making one last appearance in Friday's double bill. It sounds like it won't be entirely plain sailing for the happy couple, but why?

4. Tim discovers Sally's betrayal

When Sally Webster shared a secret kiss with her ex-husband Kevin earlier in the year, it was only a matter of time before the truth was revealed to her loyal fiancé Tim Metcalfe.

Tonight it's time for the big reveal as someone drunkenly spills the beans to Tim, jeopardising his wedding to Sally with just days to go before the ceremony. Could Coronation Street Live's biggest legacy be splitting up one of our favourite Weatherfield couples for good? Let's hope not!

5. A new start for Roy Cropper?

When we last saw Roy Cropper, he'd scarpered from a trip to Blackpool with his new friend Cathy Matthews, as the memories of his late wife Hayley were too much for him to cope with.

Tonight Roy's friends are ready to help him celebrate his 61st birthday with a gathering at the café, but the only problem is that he's still nowhere to be seen following his emotional struggle. We do know that Roy and Cathy will be heading on a date next week, so there must be a major turning point in their relationship to come imminently. Once Roy returns home, could the live show feature the moment that he and Cathy reveal their true feelings for each other?

6. Todd and Tony on the warpath

It's fair to say that it's the Platt family who hold the biggest grudges against Callum after he's tormented them for months, but don't rule out Todd Grimshaw and Tony Stewart from playing a major role in the drama on the night.

Both men are still quietly simmering over Callum organising a vicious attack on Jason last month, so the live show could be their chance to get revenge at last. A recent TV interview saw Bruno Langley, who plays Todd, reveal that his character and Tony would "get together and make some things happen" tonight. Could they be about to make a deadly alliance?

7. Heartbreak or joy for Craig Tinker?

Earlier this week, we saw Weatherfield's most likeable teen Craig Tinker excitedly preparing for a date, which came as something of a surprise to his friend Faye Windass.

Craig is awaiting the arrival of feisty Caitlin, after recently enjoying a holiday romance with her when he went camping in Wales. Will Caitlin hold true to her promise to visit Craig on the Street, or will his dream date end in tears?

8. Some convenient absences

Coronation Street Live will feature 47 of the soap's regular stars. It's a sizeable number, but there will be some notable absences on the night. Cast were free not to take part if they didn't want to, and Jane Danson (Leanne Tilsley) was among the first to confirm that she'd be sitting this one out after playing such a big role in the 2010 live episode.

Helen Worth and Sue Nicholls won't be featuring either, as hinted earlier in the week when a shaken Gail headed off screen to stay with Audrey. Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) is also currently on leave from Corrie for personal reasons, although it's understood that he wasn't due to take part in the live show regardless.

9. Some nervous faces

Live episodes are always nerve-wracking for the cast and crew, but this one follows a series of negative tabloid articles over the weekend which gave Corrie a real savaging over its recent storylines and ratings.

While the live episode's plot and script were finalised months ago and obviously won't be changed at this late stage, the pressure will be on to deliver an hour of drama that really showcases Corrie at its best. Can the world's longest-running soap rise to the challenge, or could the high stakes lead to a 'How's Adam?' moment?

10. The unexpected!

More than any other soap, we're used to Corrie giving out most of its storyline details in advance - but that's changed for this week with only a minimal amount of information released.

Producers have promised "shocks and surprises" on the night which we won't see coming, so with any luck there'll be some curveballs thrown our way to give the long-running show a fresh momentum as it heads into autumn and winter.
