Next week's Coronation Street will see Bethany Platt haunted by a face from the past, while Geoff Metcalfe's controlling behaviour worsens and Steve McDonald's world is rocked by the results of his DNA test.
Here are 12 storylines hitting your TV screens next week.
1. Steve is on the hunt for answers about Emma
Still shocked by the news that he could be Emma's biological dad, desperate Steve decides that he needs answers and plans a DNA test to find out the truth once and for all – without Emma's knowledge.
With Emma devastated at the passing of the man she believed to be her father, Steve takes her out for lunch at the Bistro in a bid to cheer her up.
Seeing his opportunity, Steve pretends that Emma has something in her hair and as he attempts to help, yanks a tuft out. Steve secretly puts it in a plastic bag and later confides in Liz that he's sent it off for testing.
2. Emma gets the shock of her life
With Steve's secret plan well under way, poor Emma decides she needs to get answers of her own. As she meets her brother Morgan ahead of the funeral, she's shocked to see a video of her mum Fiona and realises that her brother knew the truth about her paternity.
What to Read Next
Feeling betrayed, Emma sends Morgan away and as Steve arrives at the funeral, he witnesses Emma upset and alone. Unable to hide the truth, Steve reveals all. The DNA results are in – and he's Emma's biological dad. How will she react to the shocking news?
3. Tracy tries to stop Emma from leaving
With her life turned upside down, Emma confronts Fiona over Skype (complete with guest appearance by Angela Griffin) and demands answers. Meanwhile, Steve breaks the news to Tracy and Amy. However, things get too much for Emma, who blasts Audrey for keeping her in the dark and packs her bags.
Faced with the prospect of gaining and losing a daughter in the same week, Steve is at a loss – and Amy wastes no time in telling Steve and Tracy they need to sort things out.
As Tracy and Amy race to find Emma, they track her down at the station platform. As Emma looks set to depart, Tracy and Amy try to convince her to stay and be part of the family.
4. Yasmeen is shocked by Geoff's latest controlling move
Corrie's coercive control story steps up another notch when Yasmeen discovers that Geoff has installed CCTV cameras all over her house. Geoff claims the act was an attempt to tighten security following the recent robbery (that he staged), and Yasmeen is oblivious to the fact that he just wants to keep tabs on her.
Yasmeen is horrified that he installed the cameras without her permission – and insists he remove them. Acting the victim, Geoff reacts badly to Yasmeen's demands and accuses her of not considering his feelings. When Geoff ends things between them, Yasmeen is shocked, but it's clear that it's just another power play to keep her in line.
5. Geoff plants distrust about Yasmeen
As Geoff hypocritically accuses Yasmeen of being bad for his mental health, he packs his bags and leaves. Staying over at Tim's, Geoff relishes the opportunity to paint a negative picture of Yasmeen.
Fudging the details of their argument, Geoff turns the tables and labels Yasmeen a nightmare, who undermines him at every opportunity. Pot, kettle.
As Tim heads off, sinister Geoff opens his laptop and begins to watch a camera feed of Yasmeen in the house – from a hidden camera that he left installed. Even from a distance, he's still got his eye on Yasmeen.
6. Yasmeen is fooled by a fake health crisis
Refusing to let the dust settle, it isn't long before Geoff tries to worm his way back into Yasmeen's life. As he helps her out with online banking at the Bistro, he sneakily drops into the conversation that he's planned a visit to the doctor – and Yasmeen is immediately concerned.
When Geoff visits the doctor, it's obvious there's nothing wrong with him and it's all just a ruse to get a reaction out of Yasmeen. When he lies that he's been suffering heart palpations and that the doctors want to do further tests, Yasmeen is immediately concerned. It looks like Geoff's plan is working perfectly.
7. A familiar face leaves Bethany rattled
At the Bistro, Bethany faces a blast from the past as she receives a shock reminder of her horrific grooming ordeal. When a man arrives for a meal with his family, poor Bethany is horrified to recognise him from one of the parties hosted by villainous Nathan Curtis. Hurt by the reminder of her past, Bethany is shaken.
It isn't long before Daniel realises something is up, and emotional Bethany reveals all. She insists that Daniel say nothing, but faced with serving the man, Daniel struggles to remain professional and bite his tongue.
8. Daniel's confrontation leads to devastating consequences for Craig
Sure enough, things quickly escalate, and it isn't long before an argument breaks out, as the man's family argue about the shocking accusation against him. As the family leave the Bistro and prepare to speed off, Craig gets caught in the crossfire as he's hit by the car.
With Craig injured, Bethany is devastated that once again he's been hurt as a result of her past.
9. Max turns violent with Nick
It was surely only a matter of time before being exposed to the dysfunctional Platts took its toll on Max, as Nick discovers when he's on the receiving end of the youngster's outburst. In David's absence, Max's behaviour takes a turn for the worse and Nick witnesses him smashing plant pots in Victoria Gardens.
Nick tries to calm Max down, but he's shocked when Max takes a swing at him and blames him for David being in prison. Well, he's not wrong.
10. Shona is at the end of her tether
Max's warpath doesn't end there, when the troubled schoolboy ruins Lily's birthday with his misbehaviour. Later, Max pretends to Shona that he's taking his ADHD medication but secretly pockets the tablets.
At her wits' end, Shona confides to Leanne and Sarah that Max has been playing up for weeks and she's struggling to cope. Suspecting Max may not be taking his medication, she's alarmed to find it empty. However, when Max reveals a packet from his pocket and insists that he's taking them, it looks like he could pull the wool over Shona's eyes.
11. Ed makes a confession to Aggie
Ed tries to cover his tracks when Aggie's card is declined at the Corner Shop and she's left feeling suspicious. He assures her that it's just a cash flow problem but later reveals to Michael that he's in debt and needs £5,000 to fix things.
Michael confides in James about their father's problem, and although Ed is reluctant, he accepts James's offer of help. However, when the first £1000 is transferred, Michael is horrified to find Ed on a gambling site,
Ed decides that enough is enough and it's time to come clean to Aggie, but how will she react to the news that he's been responsible for the family's financial misfortunes?
12. Eileen tries to move on
Still feeling upset after the end of her disastrous relationship with Jan, Eileen is lying low – and Tim decides to deal out some tough love. When he visits, he tells her that she's needed at the Street Cars and it's time to pull herself together.
Touched by his words, Eileen heads to work. Later, she announces that she's done with men because it always ends badly. We're not sure what took her so long to realise…
Eileen shouldn't make her pledge too prematurely though, as she's set to be shocked by a twist in the tale with Jan in the coming weeks.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
