He might be best known as the MCU's top trickster Loki (with a TV show on the way), but Tom Hiddleston also has a long list of acclaimed stage performances to his name.

As Tom's international fame was rising thanks to his regular appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his short-lived romance with Taylor Swift and his well-received appearance in the BBC's The Night Manager, he was racking up stage accolades too, including an Olivier Award nomination and an Evening Standard Theatre Awards win for his leading role in Coriolanus.

And now, he's returning to the West End to star in Harold Pinter's semi-autobiographical play Betrayal.

Tom Hiddleston in Betrayal – tickets go on sale...

Well, they're available now via both ATG and TodayTix. Prices and availability vary throughout the limited run – and bear in mind that some lower priced-tickets may involve a restricted view of the stage, which is usually stated on-site as you're deciding what to put in your basket.

ATG's website says there's no booking fee for Betrayal, but states that all bookings made for the Pinter Theatre are subject to a £3.65 transaction fee.

Tom Hiddleston in Betrayal – what's the play actually about?

In Betrayal, Tom stars as Robert in the story of a seven-year affair told in reverse chronological order.

Robert's wife Emma will be played by Zawe Ashton, who you'll most likely know from Fresh Meat, Wanderlust and more.

She said: "I’m so thrilled to be part of the journey into the heart of one of Harold Pinter’s most personal pieces of work. As a longtime collaborator of Jamie Lloyd, it’s so exciting to be rounding off such an epic season of Pinter’s work."

Emma's lover Jerry – Robert's best friend – is going to be played by Daredevil's Charlie Cox, in an MCU team-up of sorts (you probably couldn't argue it's canon, though).

He said: "I am so excited to be returning to the West End and, indeed, the Harold Pinter Theatre after over ten years, and to be collaborating once again with the brilliant Jamie Lloyd.

"It feels particularly fitting and special to be working with Jamie on another Pinter play, as our production of The Lover and The Collection in 2008 was amongst the last projects that Harold himself was personally involved with."

Betrayal marks the conclusion of the Pinter at the Pinter season, a selection of Harold Pinter's one-act plays which was commissioned to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his death in December 2008.

It's attracted an all-star cast to the West End over the past few months, including David Suchet, Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, Meera Syal, Tracy-Ann Oberman, John Simm, Russell Tovey, Gemma Whelan, Tamsin Greig, Celia Imrie and Lee Evans, plus rising stars including Paapa Essiedu (Kiri, Press), Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World) and Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead).

"Betrayal is a masterpiece," Tom said when the news was announced. "Jamie Lloyd's Pinter at the Pinter season is terrific and I am so pleased that he's asked me to be part of it."

Kate (they/she) is a freelance writer, editor, digital editorial trainer and data technician who first joined Digital Spy as an overnight freelance sub-editor in January 2011, after studying a postgraduate diploma in journalism at Salford University while working part-time as a social researcher.
In July 2013, Kate joined the DS staff team as chief sub-editor and following six years as the site's managing editor, their role expanded to incorporate Hearst UK's entertainment portfolio (including Digital Spy and its sibling titles Best and Inside Soap) between late 2024 and early 2026.
Kate has worked as a writer and editor since 2006, with bylines syndicated across the Hearst network and at organisations including Metro. They started their career as a TV production runner for the BBC and contributed to various music websites, blogs and zines while based in Manchester.
During her time at DS, Kate has previously been a freelance sub-editor and chief sub-editor.
Kate's team at Digital Spy were proudly nominated in the Best Subbing/Production Team category at the BSME Talent Awards 2022. Over the years, she has contributed to coverage of many, many Prime Days and Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and was part of the team that launched the DS weekly TV newsletter in November 2019 – followed by the Top of the Shops e-commerce newsletter in May 2024.
Kate's screen passions include Taskmaster (their biggest career regret remains turning down the opportunity to visit the house), nature documentaries, and live sport (up there with the greatest of all soap operas although if asked to choose, it's Corrie… every time).
Her highlights while working at DS have included interviewing Stevie Nicks on the red carpet for her documentary In Your Dreams, sitting at a press roundtable with Formula 1 commentary icon Murray Walker, watching a life-sized LEGO car being driven around Silverstone, writing an album-by-album retrospective of Lady Gaga's genre-defying career for Living Legends, and raising awareness of receiving and understanding a late-in-life ADHD diagnosis through the lens of Bianca and Freddie's EastEnders storyline.
Upon remembering to log off the internet, Kate enjoys live theatre, dance and comedy, appreciating nature, baking (badly), tending a recently-rented allotment (equally badly) and pampering one very spoiled rescue cat named Jolene.
