We have to admit that if someone had mentioned the name Bleona Qereti to us before Monday morning, we wouldn't have had an inkling as to whom they were referring to.
But that all changed at the AMAs on Sunday night (November 23), when the Albanian singer and actress arrived on the red carpet in just a sheer fishnet dress over a pair of silver nipple tassels and matching underwear.

1. Elizabeth Hurley
Elizabeth Hurley was virtually unknown before she arrived in that iconic Versace safety pin dress and draped on the arm of then-boyfriend Hugh Grant at the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Even Lady Gaga gave it a whirl a couple of years ago in tribute to the Italian fashion house's chief designer Donatella Versace in Milan.

Speaking about the dress, Hurley has reflected: "That dress was a favour from Versace because I couldn't afford to buy one. His [Grant's] people told me they didn't have any evening wear, but there was one item left in their press office. So I tried it on and that was it.
"Unlike many other designers, Versace designs clothes to celebrate the female form rather than eliminate it."
2. Rose McGowan
Actress Rose McGowan wore the mesh dress first and didn't even bother with the nipple covers underneath as she graced the MTV VMAs red carpet in 1998 with Marilyn Manson.

Kelly Brook got everyone talking after donning that pink sequined Julien Macdonald dress slashed just above her hip and exposing matching underwear at the Snatch premiere with then-boyfriend Jason Statham. The daring number catapulted her into the modelling industry and acting world following her brief and unsuccessful stint in presenting.
5. Anja Rubik
Model Anja Rubik gained extensive press coverage when she attended the annual fashion-focused Met Ball wearing this slashed white Anthony Vaccarello dress. The 31-year-old Polish star, who dated Maroon 5's Adam Levine, suddenly appeared everywhere after flashing the flesh at the costume institute gala back in 2012.
6. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini
OK, so Cheryl then-known-as-Cole was already famous in her own right as a member of Girls Aloud and a judge on The X Factor, but she garnered plenty of press attention wearing this dress back in 2009. The star donned the sheer Alexander McQueen fringed number to celebrate her 26th birthday with her then-husband, footballer Ashely Cole.
7. Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez was already known as an actress-recently-turned-music-star and this Versace dress worn to the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards generated media attention and controversy in equal measure.
The star wore the plunging chiffon gown as she arrived to the annual ceremony with then-boyfriend Sean Combs, and images of her in the outfit had been downloaded from the Grammy website over half a million times 24 hours after the event.
Along with Hurley's Versace safety-pin gown, it's cited as one of the main dresses that made Versace a household name.

The Duchess of Cambridge - then known as Kate Middleton - reportedly caught Prince William's eye in a sheer dress over a black bikini at a charity fashion show at St Andrews University back in 2002.

It's now remembered as one of the most iconic pop moments of the 1990s and in BRITS history, so we couldn't have left it out, even though Halliwell was already world famous. Cindy Crawford's red Versace dress became iconic after the supermodel wore the daring number to the Academy Awards with then-boyfriend Richard Gere in 1991.
11. Tina Barrett
How could we have omitted S Club 7's Tina Barrett in her red, Grecian-style, Scott Henshall gown which was slit, well, absolutely everywhere? The singer donned the daring number for the pop group's movie premiere Seeing Double back in 2003. Perhaps she'll dig it out for their long-awaited comeback.
