Murray's out of Wimbledon, Glastonbury has been and gone in a Dolly Parton-filled hangover, and you know World Cup fever is well and truly over when your Twitter timeline is full of hacked off EastEnders fans, disgruntled at having their soap biffed in favour of the Argentina/Switzerland game.

However the world of celebs-ville keeps going, throwing up new celebrations for us to peek in at, and this weekend it was the turn of DJ and presenter Fearne Cotton to make the headlines as she wed her model fiancé Jesse Wood.

Managing to keep her star-studded, yet fairly low key, wedding a secret from nosey paps and journos until after the nuptials (that's no mean feat!), my kids' telly stable mate married her boyfriend of three years in Central London surrounded by friends and family - who just happen to be seriously A-list.

New father-in-law, none other than Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, donned a snazzy suit and sunnies, and was seen beaming alongside his beautiful wife Sally Humphreys. TV presenters Amanda Byram, Denise Van Outen and Holly Willoughby were accompanied by fellow mutual friend Leigh Francis AKA Keith Lemon, and McBusted all rocked up to the classy do with WAGS in tow.

The sunshine shone for the newly-weds, who are parents to 17-month-old Rex, and as Fearne took a well-deserved day off from her Radio 1 show, the bash couldn't have looked more idyllic, or the bride more beautiful in her understated boho dress and head band combo.

Taking to Twitter to confirm her marital status, the telly presenter announced to her 5 million followers today: "Good morning everyone from a very happy Mr and Mrs Wood." Ahh, congratulations!

There's nothing quite like humble pie, and courtesy of 'frenemy' Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole celebrated her 31st birthday this week in style. Currently in the midst of the X Factor audition rounds, Chezza was treated to a birthday bash on the music mogul's private jet, silly party paraphernalia and all. Dismissing any rumours of a feud between the feisty pair, fellow judge Mel B tweeted her birthday wishes to her pal along with a piccy of the party plane in full swing.

The festivities didn't cease there, keen to mark his golden girl's special day, the X Factor boss later hired a bunch of strippers posing as a singing 'act' during the Edinburgh leg of auditions. A highly embarrassed Cheryl attempted a little boogie with the five lads, whilst her 'scary' comrade Mel B legged it! Ha - good to hear all is well back in Camp Cowell.

Big Brother has been spicing up this week. The incessant arguments, bitching and back stabbing have made way for a little bit of romance. The 'hashtag awkward' situation with Kimberly and Stephen has certainly made for some cringe viewing, and the toe curlingly embarrassing 'thing' that seems to be brewing between Danielle and Winston is akin to watching one of your parents flirt - ie something no-one should ever have to witness.

It's taken me a while to get into this series of BB, I usually save myself for the Celebrity version (which, by the way is going to be corker!) but with an appearance from yours truly on spin-off show Big Brother's Bit on the Side looming, I've been making sure I'm up to date with all the antics.

My favourite housemate so far has to be cutey Mark, my least favourite the gobby screech-fest that is Helen. There're still five whole weeks to go though, so gawd knows how it's going to pan out... I just hope SOMEONE cleans the pig-sty smokers' corner at some point soon, it's a cleanliness OCD sufferer's worst nightmare!

And this week I popped along to the special screening event of Transformers: Age of Extinction at London's South Bank IMAX cinema. Hosted by new Xtra Factor host Sarah-Jane Crawford, the event was broadcast live on Channel 4 which caused all kinds of seating issues getting everyone in and sat down in time.

A little bit of couch choreography later though, and my friend and I happily swapped seats to allow fellow guests Rizzle Kicks a few more for their entourage. However, we must fess up lads, in the mere five minutes we were sat down we managed to scoff the entire seating allocation of snacks. All of it. Sorry Rizzle Kicks and friends but we can assure you, the Oreo cookies were goooood!
