In the week that was, One Direction found themselves in the middle of some unwelcome headlines, George Michael served a hospital stint, and Tom Cruise, all in the name of a premiere tour, found himself in three places at once... well, kind of. Yes, my friends, this week's showbiz peek has had some of our favourite celebs doing what they do best, making the news for us all to have a jolly good gawp at.

First up, two fifths of One Direction found themselves in hot water this week, following leaked video footage of Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking a suspicious looking 'rollie'. On tour in Peru, the two lads were caught on camera with the offending item while in the back of a tour van.

The footage prompted outrage from fans, with a select few actively demonstrating their disgust at the prospect of their role models dabbling in drugs by selling their tour tickets in protest. The five lads are said to have been in talks this week to try and smooth over any riff between them caused by the situation and move on from this blip on their, until now, squeaky clean image. Tut tut, boys, a little lesson in how NOT to spend your downtime, perhaps?

While the Kardashian wedding dominated last weekend, I was sunning myself in the party capital of the world, Ibiza. Home to the 'must visit' clubs and beach bars, I was not alone in choosing 'opening weekend' to make my descent on the island.

TV host Caroline Flack opted to get away from the rain and drizzle to embark on a sun-soaked weekend in the Med, and Frankie Sandford from The Saturdays also chose the popular destination to hold one of her multiple hen parties.

Seen chilling at the uber-cool Ocean Beach Club in San Antonio, mum-of-one Frankie cut a fine figure in a skimpy bikini, revealing her incredible post-baby bod - jealous, much! Hanging with a select bunch of girlfriends, her famous bandmates were conspicuous by their absence... Let's hope all is well in Camp Saturday.

After following the incredible story of vlogger Jonny Benjamin and his search to 'Find Mike', I popped along to the premiere of his film documentary at London's BFI which chronicled his heartwarming campaign.

After reems of media coverage earlier this year, Jonny who suffers from schizophrenia, was talked out of taking his own life six years ago by a complete stranger on Waterloo Bridge, and his search for the man who saved his life, 'Mike', sparked a global campaign. It turns out that 'Mike' is actually 'Neil' but the story and the message that Jonny has committed himself to telling is one of compassion and refreshing honesty.

You can see the whole film below. Well done, Jonny. You're an inspiration and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next from you as your star continues to rise!

And as we approach the Britain's Got Talent final, the last of the live semi-finals took place this weekend, rather inconveniently the same time and place as the Froch vs Groves fight in Wembley.

Sandwiched between a Maccy D's and a car park, home of The X Factor and BGT, Fountain Studios is infamous for its mediocre appearance. However, once I'd navigated the one-way system and 85,000 boxing fans, a night of entertainment was certainly my reward.

Not content with just bringing his girlfriend Lauren Silverman along (who incidentally he could not take his besotted eyes off all night!), I sat alongside Simon Cowell's cleaner Brenda (yup, showbiz) during the last semi-final, which held particular excitement for me as it was my buddy Andrew Derbyshire's turn to take centre stage with his rendition of Beyoncé's 'Listen'.

Being in a lineup which included glamorous Granny Paddy and her Spanish 'toyboy' teacher Nico as well as boyband Jack Pack was never going to be an easy feat. Despite the judges being less than fair in their critique of Andrew (erm, he did NOT sound like Tarzan!), he looked and sounded like the total pro he is.

Okay, so his BGT journey is at an end, but as I consoled my buddy in the studio canteen, while flanked by a confused-looking Jenson Zhu (the world's most rubbish impressionist) and cross-dressing singing sensation La Voix, we had to agree, it really is the most brilliantly bonkers career platform ever.
