After breaking her silence about having a stalker earlier this year, Claire King has revealed that her terrifying ordeal is now "just about" over.

The Coronation Street star told the Daily Star that talking publicly about her experiences may have scared them off – to her relief.

"It's just about sorted," said Claire. "The police couldn't do anything because the stalker didn't do anything illegal.

"But the issue has gone away. I think bringing it to the fore and speaking about it helped."

Although Claire fears for her life and worries that the stalker could show up in person anytime, she isn't letting this ordeal stop her from working and living her life.

"You can't feel too nervous to leave the house," she said. "You can't think like that. You've just got to crack on with life."

During her appearance on Loose Women back in March, King revealed that she had been going through a stalker ordeal for a "few months".

Apparently the person would follow her and write and send letters, but the police unfortunately couldn't help her "because they have not committed a crime" when asked if they could do something about the situation.

Claire also said that this isn't the first time she's received unwanted attention from individuals – saying that she had "quite a few" stalkers back when she was starring in Emmerdale and Bad Girls.

Claire currently stars on Coronation Street, first joining the show in 2014 as Erica Holroyd, Liz McDonald's friend. She was originally hired for a guest stint, but was later made a Weatherfield regular after Erica got a positive reception from fans.
