Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has announced his engagement to partner Jennifer Holland.
Gunn, known for creating a number of Marvel and DC projects, has been dating Holland since 2015 after they met through their mutual friend Michael Rosenbaum.
He posted a snap of his new fiancée to Instagram on February 20 that simply had her smiling and sipping a cup of a coffee – with her large diamond engagement ring in plain view. Gunn captioned it with a smirking emoji and a red heart emoji.
Though it wasn't exactly an explicit announcement, it was enough of a hint for their friends to express congratulations in the comments.
Karen Gillan, who worked with Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy, commented: "OMG!!!" while Gillan's co-star Molly Quinn wrote: "My heart explodes from joy."
Holland did not post an official announcement herself, but did post a happy photo of the couple on her Instagram account, captioned with the word "happiness". Seems like a hint to us!

This will be Gunn's second marriage, as he was previously married to The Office star Jenna Fischer from for around eight years.
Holland has since played the role of Emilia Harcourt in The Suicide Squad and reprised that role in HBO Max's spin-off show Peacemaker, both of which are helmed by Gunn.
She stars alongside John Cena, who plays the titular super soldier, Steve Agee, Freddie Stroma, and Nhut Le in the movie, which recently broke records for the biggest single-day performance of all HBO Max originals.

The show was renewed for a second series earlier this month, which Gunn also announced via Instagram.
Gunn has also teased that he is developing a second spin-off show from The Suicide Squad, following Peacemaker's success, saying: "We're working on something else now, another TV show that's connected to that universe."
