One Direction have denied rumours that they will be taking a break following the drama of Zayn Malik quitting in March.

At the Capital Summertime Ball yesterday (June 6), Liam Payne said that the group don't plan to take time off - because they are far too busy.

"We don't know where this has come from because we've got loads of stuff going on," he said. "We've just started the process of recording the new album, there's a whole new tour going on and some really good songs.

"We won't be going anywhere for a while, so I don't know where that's brewed from."

The group also denied that fans had booed an image of Malik which appeared on a screen at their concert in Cardiff on Friday (June 5).

Louis Tomlinson said that it was "the first [they've] heard of it", while Payne added: "I don't think that's true, if I'm honest."

Tomlinson and his bandmate Niall Horan previously denied that they were being lined up as judges on The X Factor, with Horan claiming that he would be "terrible".
