One Direction have beaten Elvis Presley and The Beatles in online memorabilia sales.

Over the past three months, 142,000 units of One Direction paraphernalia were sold on eBay.co.uk - 84,000 more than that of closest artist Prince.

A total of 50,000 units of Elvis memorabilia were sold on the site over the past three months, with The Beatles' goods shifting 36,000 and U2's selling 30,000.

Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and Kylie Minogue follow with 26,000, 23,000 and 19,800 respectively, while Madonna and Beyoncé were close behind.

One Direction were recently named as the biggest selling touring artists of 2014.

X Factor alum James Arthur recently apologised to One Direction fans for a series of comments he made about the boyband back in 2013.
