Harry Styles has given his first interview since One Direction announced their hiatus and, well... it's not good news for those who want the gang to get back together as soon as possible.

Harry was being interviewed in AnOther magazine (where he debuted a range of new looks) by Chelsea Handler and none other than Sir Paul McCartney.

When asked if he knows when One Direction plan to reunite, Styles replied: "I don't know.

"I would never say we'll never do anything ever again but it's good for us to be exploring different things.

"Maybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but it'll be better if it happens naturally like, 'Hey, we all really want to do this again'. If that were to happen it would be amazing.

"I would never rule that out. It's the most important, greatest thing that ever happened to me, being in that band. It completely changed my life."

His words echo what happened when Girls Aloud went on hiatus - originally the group said it would be a year to try new things, but then everyone got so wrapped up in their own projects that three years went by before the group realised their 10th anniversary was coming up and got back together.

We're not saying One Direction won't reunite until 2020 but just prepare yourself for that likelihood.

In the meantime, Harry will be appearing in the Christopher Nolan directed Dunkirk and releasing his long-awaited debut album. We've gathered all the info you need to know about it right here.
