In a year that's been pretty huge for music, the current frontrunners for biggest album of 2016 have now been revealed.

Adele's 25 is (of course) the top-selling record of the past six months, after racking up combined chart sales of 523,000.

The 'Hello' singer's second album 21 is also in the top 40 of the year, landing at 29.

Meanwhile, the late David Bowie has 5 albums in the top 40, with his 2016 album Blackstar at 2 after achieving 363,000 combined sales.

Best of Bowie is at 5, fellow greatest hits collection Nothing Has Changed is at 15, Hunky Dory is at 34 and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust is at 37.
