If we weren't already excited for Taylor Swift's next album, the latest twist in her love life will have us poring over every last word when it finally does arrive.
The singer was photographed kissing British actor Tom Hiddleston earlier this week, less than a month after ending her relationship with Calvin Harris.
The Scottish DJ quickly unfollowed Swift on social media following the pictures, suggesting that there's more going behind the scenes than we first thought.
We're certain there'll be more clues to what happened when the follow-up to 1989 is released, but in the meantime let's take a look back at Taylor Swift's previous high-profile relationships, through the medium of song.
1. JOE JONAS
The song: 'LAST KISS'
What to Read Next
Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas were briefly love's young dream in the summer of 2008. That was before Joe reportedly ended the relationship in a 27-second-long phone call. Yikes. It takes longer than that to floss your teeth.
Taylor's reaction? 'Last Kiss'.
"You say all of these desperate, hopeless feelings that you have after a break-up," she wrote on her website about the song. "Going through a break-up you feel all of these different things. You feel anger, and you feel confusion, and frustration.
"Then there is the absolute sadness. The sadness of losing this person, losing all the memories, and the hopes you had for the future. There are times when you have this moment of truth where you just admit to yourself that you miss all these things. When I was in one of those moments I wrote this song."
What we learned: She really liked him. The song goes: "I roll my eyes and then you pull me in. I'm not much for dancing, but for you I did. Because I love your handshake meeting my father, I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets. How you kissed me when I was in the middle of saying something. There's not a day when I don't miss those rude interruptions."
2. JOHN MAYER
The song: 'DEAR JOHN'
Not exactly subtle this one, is it? After a brief fling in 2009 when Taylor Swift was a wide-eyed 19-year-old, John Mayer – 12 years her senior – felt the full sting of T-Swizz's songwriting. Although she has never confirmed it is in fact about Mayer, the lyrics leave very little doubt.
What we learned: She got burned by the ultimate playa. She sings, "It was wrong / Don't you think nineteen's too young / To be played / By your dark, twisted games / When I loved you so." Ouch.
3. TAYLOR LAUTNER
The song: 'BACK TO DECEMBER'
Remember the glorious days of Taylor Squared? It was such an innocent time. Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner were showbiz's most enviable couple, but it was all over and done with in four months back in 2009.
What we learned: On this occasion it sounds like it was Swift who was the heartbreaker, as she apologises to Lautner. "So this is me swallowing my pride, standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night… It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you."
How do we know she's definitely singing about him? "I miss your tanned skin, your sweet smile," she coos. Certainly sounds like our favourite Twilight werewolf.
4. JAKE GYLLENHAAL
The song: 'THE LAST TIME'
At the end of 2010, Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were Hollywood's latest famous fling. The relationship only lasted three months, but this duet with Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody is thought to be about the whirlwind romance.
What we learned: They had a kind of on-off thing, by the sounds of it. "And all the times I let you in, Just for you to go again," she sings. And, "This is the last time I'm asking you why / You break my heart in the blink of an eye."
Poor Taylor.
5. CONOR KENNEDY
The song: 'BEGIN AGAIN'
Rather than writing about the end of a relationship, Taylor instead focusses on meeting someone new here. "It's actually a song about when you've gotten through a really bad relationship and you finally dust yourself off and go on that first date after a horrible break-up," she said back in 2012. "And the vulnerability that goes along with all of that." And just who had she recently started dating back then? None other than Conor Kennedy who, yes, is part of that famous American family.
What we learned: "You said you never met one girl / Who had as many James Taylor records as you / But I do."
Glad that's sorted.
6. HARRY STYLES
The song: 'STYLE'
Hmm. How could you possibly come to the conclusion that this song in particular is about Taylor's former boyfriend Harry Styles? Easily one of the best tracks from her latest album 1989, 'Style' has even more references to the One Direction lothario than the obvious nod in the title. "You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirt," she sings on the earworm chorus, while also acknowledging his "James Dean daydream look in [his] eye".
What we learned: Both Harry and Taylor have been round the block a few times by the sound of it (like we didn't know): "He says, 'What you've heard is true but I can't stop thinking about you,' and I... I said, 'I've been there, too, a few times'."
If you want Harry's response, all you've got to do is press play on One Direction's 'Perfect'.
