It's alive, again, as a first trailer for Riverdale star Cole Sprouse's new movie Lisa Frankenstein has been unveiled, which you can check out above.

In the latest adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic novel Frankenstein, an unpopular '80s schoolgirl named Lisa, played by Kathryn Newton, accidentally brings a Victorian corpse (Sprouse) to life during a lightning storm.

However, instead of putting him back in the ground, Lisa starts to transform the reanimated corpse into the man of her dreams by using the broken tanning bed in her garage.

Lisa Frankenstein marks the directorial feature debut of Zelda Williams, the daughter of late actor Robin Williams, while Oscar winner Diablo Cody wrote the script.

It was confirmed earlier this month that the film will arrive in US cinemas on February 9, 2024, though a UK release date has yet to be announced.

Opening up about the Netflix show's "bittersweet" ending, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said: "When we were renewed for season 7, though we weren’t told at the time it'd be our final season, I think we were all feeling that it might be.

"When [The CW CEO Mark Pedowitz] and I talked about it… it was bittersweet. That said, we are so proud of the run we've had, and the call did come as we were working on the last episode of season 6."

Meanwhile, Newton, who made her MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania earlier this year, has landed a role in an untitled monster thriller from Scream VI filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

Lisa Frankenstein will arrive in US cinemas on February 9, 2024. A UK date has yet to be confirmed.
