1John Travolta (Danny Zuko)
Getty ImagesPulling in $395 million at the worldwide box office made Grease's male lead an instant star. While his acting career declined a little during the '80s, he enjoyed a resurgence following his appearance in Pulp Fiction (1994) before making a critically-panned film based on his Scientology beliefs. Still, those reviews look good next to his recent 0% rating for Gotti.
2Didi Conn (Frenchy)
Rex/ShutterstockBorn Edith Bernstein, Didi Conn had already been acting for a few years when she stared as a beauty-school dropout and was one of the few original cast members to reprise her role as Frenchy in Grease 2. She has continued to act consistently through the years, and in 2018 appears in the movies Most Likely to Murder and The Mimic.

Getty ImagesOutside of theatre work, Jeff Conaway had two other high profile roles (as aspiring actor Bobby Wheeler in TV comedy Taxi and as security officer Zack Allan in Babylon 5). His battles with substance abuse, which he was open about, led to a stint on shows such as Celebrity Rehab, but he sadly died from an accidental overdose in 2011.

She played Evelyn Rayburn for 39 episodes in TV's State of Grace and was otherwise best known for her roles as Elaine Lefkowitz on Soap and Carol Weston on Empty Nest, but hasn't acted since the movie Bart Got a Room a decade ago.
6Michael Tucci (Sonny)

7Barry Pearl (Doody)
Getty ImagesBarry Pearl joined the cast of the first national tour of the Grease stage play in 1973 so was worthy of his casting in the film. He's acted ever since and has been particularly prolific in guest spots on many established American TV shows, with a cameo in the 2016 Grease Live! TV movie for good measure.
8Stockard Channing (Betty Rizzo)
Getty ImagesOutside of the two leads in Grease, Stockard Channing has had the most success. Roles in theatre, film and TV have included major stints in series such as The Good Wife, Out of Practice, Batman of the Future (voicing Barbara Gordon) and a brilliant turn as First Lady Abbey Bartlet in The West Wing. Her trophy cabinet now houses three Emmy and two SAG Awards.

9Jamie Donnelly (Jan)
Getty ImagesJamie Donnelly was a cult figure even before the success of Grease. She appeared as Magenta in the US premiere of The Rocky Horror Show at the Roxy theatre in LA with Tim Curry and Meat Loaf, when the show opened in 1974. She then reprised her Pink Lady stage role on film despite having to dye her greying hair to suit the young part, being 31 years old by the time the film was released. She still acts today, with recent roles in Black Mass and Ray Donovan.
10Olivia Newton-John (Sandy)
Getty ImagesStarring in one of the highest-grossing musicals in movie history also gave Olivia Newton-John's career an enormous boost, but she didn't pursue an acting career to the extent Travolta did. Not that she needed to, as the four-time Grammy Award winner still has a highly successful music career.
