Sure, the reviews aren't necessarily begging fans to watch The Cloverfield Paradox, but if there's any reason to give the latest instalment of the Cloververse a go, two undiscovered Easter eggs might be it.
Yes, fans might be scarily adept at spotting movies' little nods to each other these days, but Paradox's producer JJ Abrams has teased that there are a couple under the radar.
Speaking to Digital Spy, JJ teased: "There are two that I can think of that I don't think have been found that are cool and, actually, weirdly something that we're doing with Netflix.
"But we'll see if that gets found out."
Although we'd probably find it a little annoying if fans spotted our meticulously hidden Easter eggs in a matter of minutes, JJ actually finds the whole thing "remarkable".
"By the time I'm done with this sentence, people will have found it, because it's incredible how quickly people find the things that you think will take days or weeks or months," he added.

One Easter egg fans have almost definitely spotted, however, isn't actually an Easter egg at all. Or at least if it is, it's director Julius Onah's brainchild and not Abrams'.
Yep, it turns out the discerning fan over on Reddit who discovered that playing the Cloverfield movies in sync reveals something pretty incredible might have just uncovered a sheer fluke.
"I will say that, in my point of view, it was not intentional. Julius might have had other secret plans," he explained, referring to the films' 18-minute, 20-second mark.

So, now that we've established The Cloverfield Paradox contains both deliberate and potentially accidental Easter eggs, how deep are the films' connections to one another?
Well, while those connections do exist according to JJ, he's not totally down with the idea of movies abandoning their own personal set of rules.
"Now that we've done this crazy movie, it opens up the possibility of alternate everythings. Obviously if you say there are no rules, then that's not good either," he said.
The Cloverfield Paradox is on Netflix now.
