Blade Runner: 2049 will sweep into cinemas later this week, and going by the rave reviews (including our own) it's going to come very close to the original cult classic.

However, as you'll likely know, Ridley Scott's original move went through a lot of changes by the studio, including Harrison Ford's much maligned voiceover, which was quickly cut in the later versions.

That voiceover includes some horrendous dialogue where Harrison's character Rick Deckard explains that his captain is "the kind of man that used to call black men n***ers".

Now Honest Trailers' new video points out all those flaws that you've been overlooking for years, such as why are they called 'Blade Runners' other than the fact it sounds cool?

They also flag that Deckard struggles with killing humanoid robots who seem to be alive, but then is absolutely fine with forcing himself upon them. What a creep.

Then there's the fact the movie's infamous (sort of) twist doesn't actually get resolved. Speaking about that twist Harrison explained that the new movie still won't resolve the answer we've all been waiting for, although he and Ridley Scott have agreed on one.

The creators also explained which of the eight (EIGHT!) possible versions of the film are best to watch before heading out to see Blade Runner: 2049.

And actor-y actor Jared Leto elevated himself to a whole new level of Leto-ness by physically blinding himself to play the movie's antagonist, Niander Wallace, because of course he did.

If you can't quite wait for the movie, there's also a whole bunch of animated prequel short films to enjoy, including Blade Runner Black Out 2022.

Blade Runner 2049 is released in UK cinemas on October 5 and US cinemas on October 6.
