Legendary Pictures have been busy teasing all the famous giant beasties that will appear in their upcoming MonsterVerse for a while now, and they're not stopping any time soon.

Ahead of Kong: Skull Island's home media release, the official Twitter account has uploaded a new video that dangles a pteranodon-shaped carrot in our faces:

The video describes a 1991 quarantine set up by the franchise's secret government organisation Monarch, based around a dormant volcano in Isle de Mona.

Now, kaiju fans, who lives in a volcano? Rodan, of course!

For those of you who don't know, Rodan is the flying one out of Godzilla's group of frenemies and comes equipped with a plethora of iconic screeches:

Legendary Pictures confirmed a few years back that they had obtained the rights to Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah.

What to Read Next

The terrible trio appeared as wall murals in the post-credits sequence of Kong: Skull Island before the studio unveiled the synopsis for their Godzilla sequel:

"The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

"When these ancient super-species — thought to be mere myths — rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance."

If you guys wanna drop some concept art or a GCI render soon, that'd be great.

The as-yet-untitled sequel has lined up an impressive cast, including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon's Zhang Ziyi, Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things).

Godzilla 2: Fury Rodan (as we're calling it for now) is scheduled for release on March 22, 2019, and a Godzilla vs Kong movie is expected to drop on May 29, 2020.
