Star-Lord and co have already got their hands full with giant octopus monsters, Nebula, Ego the Living Planet and goodness knows what else in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 – and now Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor is getting involved too.
Sort of. Michael Rosenbaum, who played Luthor in Smallville, has been cast in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.
He also voiced The Flash in the Justice League (and Justice League Unlimited) animated series so that's double DC betrayal.
Director James Gunn appeared on The Adam Carolla Show podcast and said that Rosenbaum has a "decent" role in the movie.
"I will say that my friend Michael Rosenbaum also has a pretty decent role in the movie as well and it sort of works in tandem with Sly's character," Gunn explained.

A very excited Rosenbaum also tweeted to confirm the announcement, stating: "I kept yapper shut 4 a year but can finally say what @JamesGunn announced on @adamcarolla I'm in freaking @Guardians @TheSlyStallone @Marvel".
Gunn then retweeted Rosenbaum and added: "What are friends for if they can't give their friends roles as major Marvel cosmic characters?"
Guardians 2 will be released in the UK on April 28, 2017, and in the US on May 5, 2017.
