Ewan McGregor is enjoying the current Trainspotting nostalgia so much that he's even recreated its classic poster.

Ewan, his T2 Trainspotting co-stars and Danny Boyle crowd the couch on The Graham Norton Show tonight (January 27) to reminisce about and celebrate the sequel that was 20 years in the making.

Graham took the boys on a trip down memory lane by showing the classic Trainspotting poster, which he said "broke the mould" for cinema in the '90s. Why not recreate it 20 years later?

When they were making us chuckle, Ewan also addressed his decade-long feud with Trainspotting director Danny Boyle over the decision not to cast him in 2000 thriller The Beach.

"It was a misunderstanding and a mishandling of a situation," Ewan now admits. "It's a big regret of mine that it went on for so long and a real shame we didn't work together all those years.

"I had been in Danny's first three films and then I wasn't asked to be in his fourth – The Beach – but it wasn't really about the film, it was about our friendship. Not being in the film made me a bit rudderless and I didn't quite get it. You can only fall out with someone you love."

Danny wouldn't let Ewan take all the blame, telling Graham: "I handled it very badly and I've apologised to Ewan. I feel a great shame about it that is difficult to explain.

"He handled it with enormous grace and courage. Someone asked him to present an award to me for Slumdog Millionaire and he did it and made this amazing speech and I was in tears backstage. I'm very grateful to him."

All is well these days, with the pair even reuniting with Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle for the long-awaited sequel T2 Trainspotting.
