Who would win in a fight: Godzilla or King Kong? It's an age old question that's set to be answered in 2020 when Godzilla vs Kong hits our screens.

But before then, it looks like we'll get the answer to that other timeless question of who would win in a fight: King Kong or Tom Hiddleston?

What to Read Next

Ahead of the release of Kong: Skull Island next year, what we can tell you is that Kong is definitely going to have the height advantage.

Talking to Empire, producer Alex Garcia revealed that the new incarnation of Kong would be 100 feet tall - quite a growth spurt from the 1933 version, who was estimated to be about 25 feet tall.

You can see glimpses of his massive self in the new trailer released at Comic-Con, where we were teased with a shot of a ginormous skull and a humongous ape hand.

The movie, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, sees SAS man Hiddleston and photographer Brie Larson tracking Kong in the '70s during the time of the Vietnam War.

And the terrains they encounter on the friendly-sounding Skull Island are nearly as treacherous as Kong, according to Garcia.

"There are jungles, sulphur pits, bamboo forests, a variety of different environments that are both wondrous and incredibly dangerous," he said.

Kong is "his own species", according to Garcia. The plan is that he'll go on to have a run-in with Gareth Edwards's Godzilla in the follow-up film.

Edwards's lizard was the biggest 'Zilla to date at a massive 350 feet tall, so Kong is still something of a short stack in comparison.

Kong: Skull Island opens in cinemas on March 10, 2017.
