Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has released its first trailer and we're already going crazy with speculations, observations, and wild guesswork.
Here are 12 mysterious morsels for you to ponder over while we wait for more announcements:
1. The little stompy robots are back!
It's a power droid! Wheels are apparently in short supply in the Star Wars universe.
2. The Rebel base has some familiar décor
The Resistance is apparently still using the same interior decorator 30+ years down the line.
3. Mon Mothma!
The Rebellion leader is here, with actress Genevieve O'Reilly apparently back after her turn as the character in Revenge of the Sith.

4. Diego Luna is rocking the handsome Rebel look
This is beginning to feel familiar. Shall we call you Han? Or Poe?
5. The Death Star is fully operational
Isn't it always?
6. Who's the villain in white?
The rumours that Ben Mendelsohn will replace Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin are supported by the appearance of that familiar (and, come to think of it, comically oversized) insignia, though his greys are lighter. But the Bloodline actor is definitely an Imperial leader of some kind.
7. All-new flavours of Stormtrooper
Not only are we back to the classic Imperial soldier designs, but we've got a load of new ones thrown into the cosplay mix (those guys in black don't look like shadow troopers to us).
8. What is Forest Whitaker's deal?
He's rocking a rough and ready look that has a bit of a Boba Fett/bounty hunter vibe. He's also the one delivering that ominous voice-over – presumably to our new hero, Felicity Jones's Jyn.
9. Donnie Yen is a badass space ninja
Who needs a blaster when you have a big stick and know how to use it?
10. Not a lightsaber in sight
At this point, that's the most surprising thing about this trailer. But with the Jedi assumed extinct at this point, it makes sense.
11. Who's the villain in black?
Opinion is split. Some people have said Darth Vader (yeah right!), but Emperor Palpatine, seems a better bet, with the hood and Emperor's Royal Guard all present. But why would Palpatine be kneeling? We feel another Supreme Leader Snoke theory coming on...
12. Jyn Erso: "What will you become?"
What's happening with Jyn at the end – standing there in her Imperial Insignia? Is she a traitor? Or Rey's mum? The suspense is already killing us.
