The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is getting a big screen reboot thanks to new novel The Girl with the Spider's Web, but Lisbeth Salander apparently nearly came back as a TV series.
Speaking to Digital Spy to promote her new film Carol, Dragon Tattoo star Mara revealed that discussions happened around a small screen adaptation of Stieg Larsson's creation.
"I think there were talks of that (a TV version) but I really don't know, I'm very much as in the dark as everyone else," Mara said prior to the recent reboot announcement.

Carol will be released in UK cinemas on November 27.
