The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is reportedly set for yet another version, with The Danish Girl star Alicia Vikander being eyed-up for the lead.
According to The Wrap Sony, who produced the Rooney Mara-starring film, are looking for a new actress to play Lisbeth Salander.
Before the 2011 American version, a Swedish adaptation of the trilogy was released in 2009 starring Noomi Rapace.
Director David Fincher and star Daniel Craig, who were part of the Hollywood remake, are unlikely to return.
Sony had reportedly wanted to adapt The Girl Who Played With Fire initially with writer Steve Zaillian, for a large sum.
However, Locke writer Steve Knight is apparently in line to pen the script for the new film.

They are reportedly planning to adapt The Girl With The Spider's Web, the fourth book in the Millenium series, which written after author Stieg Larsson's death by David Lagercrantz and was released in August.
Rooney Mara said earlier this year that she was doubtful of a Girl With The Dragon Tattoo sequel happening, though David Fincher said in 2014 that he was hopeful.
