The recent character posters, Japanese trailer and TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens offered up no answers to the one burning question everyone still has about the movie: where's Luke Skywalker?
The latest info spilled by EW doesn't show us Luke, but it does offer up an explanation as to why he's in hiding.
John Boyega, who plays Stormtrooper deserter Finn, explained that soldiers are raised from childhood to believe that Luke was the evil force responsible for the destruction of the Empire at the close of Return of the Jedi.
Has the propaganda machine forced Luke into exile to get away from what's left of the Imperial forces?
This idea certainly feels like it's in keeping with Star Wars movies past.
Let's not forget that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda both disappeared to Tatooine and Dagobah in the original trilogy to take themselves out of harm's way from the Empire's clutches.
All will be revealed when Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits cinemas on December 17 in the UK and December 18 in the US. Watch the trailer below:
