The weekend has arrived, and with it comes a number of great movies that you won't want to miss on TV.
From acclaimed recent sci-fi hit Dune to a huge live-action version of a Disney classic, there's plenty to watch across the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
Digital Spy has handily rounded up 5 of the best.
The King’s Man
A prequel to the hit Kingsman movies, The King's Man follows the origins of the secretive organisation around the time of World War I, as a group of history's big villains plot to wipe out millions of people.
Featuring Conclave's Ralph Fiennes, Babygirl's Harris Dickinson, The Critic's Gemma Arterton, Spider-Man's Rhys Ifans and Dept Q's Matthew Goode, the movie was called a "satisfying blockbuster" that "might not entirely be what Kingsman fans expect" by Digital Spy.
Airing Saturday at 9pm on Channel 4. Available on Channel 4 afterwards.
What to Read Next
Dune (2021)
Described as "breathtaking" by Globe and Mail and "electrifying" by The Observer, Dune is adapted from Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel that many previously deemed unfilmable, and follows Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) as his father takes over stewardship of the desert planet of Arrakis – only to be thrown into a war following betrayal.
Boasting an 83% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has since spawned a sequel – with a third on the way too – but if you want to watch the one that started it all, it's airing on ITV1 on Saturday evening. Silo's Rebecca Ferguson, Frankenstein's Oscar Isaac, Challengers' Zendaya and Marvel's Dave Bautista co-star.
Airing Saturday at 9.15pm on ITV1. Available on ITVX afterwards.
Salt
If you're looking for more action thrills, Angelina Jolie stars in this 2010 movie as CIA agent Evelyn Salt, who goes on the run after being accused of being a Russian sleeper agent while also trying to prove her innocence.
Co-starring Asteroid City's Liev Schreiber and Doctor Strange's Chiwetel Ejiofor, Salt largely drew acclaim, with The Guardian calling it "pacy, smart, subversive and knocked out with such verve and attack that you're not in the least bit bothered by how far-fetched it all is ".
Airing Saturday at 11.40pm on Channel 4.
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
This remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast became a huge success when it was released in 2017, taking in over $1.2 billion at the box office and largely attracting acclaim too.
Emma Watson takes on the role of Belle, who is taken prisoner by the prince-turned-beast (Dan Stevens) and learns to see beyond his exterior into his heart, all while being pursued by the evil Gaston (Luke Evans). Star Wars' Ewan McGregor, Frozen's Josh Gad, Lord of the Rings' Ian McKellen and Oscar-winner Emma Thompson also feature.
Airing Sunday at 2.40pm on BBC One. Available on BBC iPlayer afterwards.
Batman Begins
The first instalment in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy introduced us to Christian Bale's version of Batman, acting as an origin story as the Caped Crusader faces off against baddies who are planning to destroy Gotham City.
While it was followed by the even-more-successful The Dark Knight in 2008, Batman Begins is definitely worth watching, boasting an impressive 85% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the Radio Times saying it "swoops you up and doesn't let go till the end".
Airing Sunday at 10.20pm on ITV1. Available on ITVX afterwards.
