Hot on the news of Godzilla vs Kong's development, we've potentially got our first sneaky look at set pictures from Kong: Skull Island too.

Reel Local Hawaii has been out scouting sites across the islands and has tweeted what appears to be pictures from the production crew as cameras are due to begin rolling on Jordan Vogt-Roberts's film on Monday:

What role a giant, red (and then seemingly broken) King Kong skull will play in the film remains to be seen, but luckily one of the film's stars is on hand to tease us with some more images from the set.

Samuel L Jackson took to Instagram this weekend to share a photo of what appears to be a retro helicopter alongside the caption: "Bout to learn to drive some new/vintage shit! Fun Fun Fun!!"

It looks similar to helicopters used during the Vietnam War - echoing rumours the film is partially set in the 1970s as previously mentioned by former cast member JK Simmons.

That's an idea that Reel Local Hawaii appears to have picked up on too, considering this image of Jackson in the helicopter with crew:

John Goodman was recently added to the film's cast, and will play a government official named Randa, responsible for leading the expedition to Skull Island.

Kong: Skull Island will also star Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson, and is due to open on March 10, 2017.
