Some people had raised the question of why the dinosaurs would be so respectful to Grady.

"[The marketing team] have shown far more of this movie than I would ever have wanted," he stated.

"There really is a very natural bit of conflict between a filmmaker wanting an audience to be brought slowly into a film and to be eased into accepting an image like that.
"If you're introducing a new set of rules, to just show people snippets of something without them understanding the set of rules that define the movie can be challenging for an audience."
Trevorrow added: "I trust that a lot of people seeing the movie will allow a lot of people to call their friends and be like, 'Actually, it's not like that all. It feels a lot more like Jurassic Park than we ever thought it would, even though those things are in the movie'."
