First-look images for Kelly Reichardt's The Mastermind have been released, giving a sneak peek of Josh O'Connor and Alana Haim in the lead roles.

Reichardt's upcoming feature, which follows her 2022 dramedy Showing Up starring Michelle Williams, is a heist movie set in 1970s Massachusetts.

The new images sees O'Connor in the role of protagonist JB Mooney, an unemployed carpenter who reinvents himself as an amateur art thief. The film centres on JB planning his first heist.

An image of Haim in an undisclosed role sees the actor-musician talking on the phone while sat in front of her typewriter in what looks like a newsroom, with all clues pointing to her character being a journalist on Mooney's case.

The Mastermind has a stacked cast, also featuring stars John Magaro, Hope Davis, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, and Amanda Plummer, among others.
