Craving a Downton Abbey re-watch over the festive season or simply want a refresher ahead of the upcoming third film?
Many viewers have taken the Crawley family into their hearts and homes since first appearing on our screens in 2010, with the beloved ITV show going on to span six series and two feature-length films (with a third movie arriving next year).
Downton Abbey: A New Era, the second and latest motion picture, released in 2022, returns to screens tonight (December 25) at 9pm on ITV and sees the Crawleys set off for a south of France adventure to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess's newly inherited villa.
The movie also airs an hour later at 10pm on ITV+1 for those who'd prefer a later viewing.

The third Downton Abbey film will arrive in cinemas on September 12, 2025 — the same day as its US debut. Familiar faces returning for the new movie include Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern as Robert and Cora Crawley, Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Talbot), Jim Carter (Mr Carson), Phyllis Logan (Elsie Carson), and Dame Penelope Wilton (Lady Merton).
Meanwhile, Paul Giamatti makes a long-awaited return as Lady Cora's brother with new cast members including Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan.
