Wicked: For Good notably arrives exactly one year after the release of the first film, which was released in US and UK cinemas on November 22, 2024.
The film has performed well at the box office, currently standing as the eighth highest-grossing movie of 2024 worldwide.

The movie's cast members including Erivo, Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum will appear in the second instalment, having filmed both parts at the same time.
The decision to make Wicked into two movies was decided ahead of filming, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining that one movie would have meant a less faithful adaptation that would have "required us cutting or omitting things that we wanted to include".
Another reason for the split was to do with arguably the musical's most famous song 'Defying Gravity' ending the first act of the musical.
"We found it very difficult to get past 'Defying Gravity' without a break," Schwartz continues. "That song is written specifically to bring a curtain down, and whatever scene followed it without a break just seemed hugely anti-climactic."
Filming wrapped on both parts in January 2024 with no reshoots currently known ahead of the second movie's release.
Wicked: For Good will be released on November 22, 2025. Wicked is out now in cinemas.
