Gerard Butler is back in action next year with Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, but there's one of his other franchises on TV tonight if you just can't wait.

Angel Has Fallen is the final outing of the action trilogy (for now – there has been a Night Has Fallen in development for a while), and saw Mike Banning framed for an attempt to assassinate the US President.

It was the lowest-grossing outing of the trilogy, but you can decide for yourself if it deserved more as Angel Has Fallen is airing tonight (December 12) at 11.45pm on Film4.

If you miss its broadcast, then Angel Has Fallen is available to rent or buy the movie from Prime Video right now.

As well as Gerard Butler reprising his role as Mike Banning, the movie also sees Morgan Freeman back as Allan Trumbull (now the US President) and Piper Perabo takes over from Radha Mitchell as Mike's wife Leah.

It also features Nick Nolte as Mike's estranged father Clay and the late Lance Reddick as Secret Service Director David Gentry.

While we're still waiting for a potential fourth Has Fallen movie, the universe has expanded with Prime Video series Paris Has Fallen.

The series has no connection with the movie trilogy, but the idea is roughly the same, as a protection officer has to team up with an MI6 operative to protect the French Minister of Defence from terrorists.

And if you fancy something completely different from Gerard Butler, his Christmas movie where he's playing Santa Claus is now available to watch on Sky Cinema.

Angel Has Fallen airs tonight (December 12) at 11.45pm on Film4.
